A frontline governorship aspirant in Jigawa state North-Western Nigeria, Adamu Aliyu has promised to add value to available opportunities in the state to take it to its manifest destination.

He stated this in a ceremony in Dutse Jigawa state, where he declared his intention to run for the Governorship position in the state, under the All Progressive Congress.

The former House of Representatives member said if elected, success will be achieved through his vast experience and network of relationships in both private and public life.

“The experiences have adequately engrained in me the qualities required to provide leadership that will further galvanize our state to attain its Manifest destiny.

“We will do everything possible to address the lingering poverty of our People,” he said.

He said Jigawa is naturally endowed with agricultural opportunities, which employ over 80 per cent of the 5 million populations but regretted that most of the production systems are based on traditional implements, promising to introduce modern ways of farming especially mechanisation for increased productivity, income and profitability.

“We intend to provide many Interventions, which shall include the supply of subsidised fertiliser, improved seedlings, machinery and land preparation.

“As an experienced farmer, I hope to bring in foreign technical partners to the sector,” stressed Adamu.

He said the administration shall devise various means for the improvement of effective and efficient health care delivery services in the state.

“Education, technology, infrastructure and social services are other sectors where much attention needs to be given.

“Women empowerment will be given priority considering the success achieved by the present administration through soft loans and goats given to them, which have been multiplied and being modelled across the country,” he said

He said his administration will not spare anybody who crosses the red line as he or she will be dealt with.

“The will be a reward for successes but anyone who crosses the redline will be dealt with, that is what I will do differently from Badaru,” warned Adamu

He commended the efforts made so far in many sectors of the state by the incumbent Governor, Abubakar Badaru and President Mohammudu Buhari, promising to build on their successes, if elected.

He called on the state Governor to allow for a level playing field during and after the governorship primaries in the state adding that he is not ready to step down for any other candidate in the election.
