APC National Executives Express Gratitude On Court of Appeal Verdict

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullah Umar Ganduje has expressed gratitude following Court of Appeal’s verdict on the reaffirmation of of Dr Nasiru Gawuna as the elected Governor of Kano State.
Dr Ganduje commended the judiciary for maintaining a steadfast commitment to justice amid the various distractions faced throughout the legal proceedings.
He expressed gratitude for the victory, emphasising its significance for democracy, the APC, and the state of Kano.
“This is an indication that democracy has firmly taken root in Nigeria. We thank all stakeholders, including political parties like the NNPP, who engaged in the legal process. Post-election litigations are inevitable, and the judiciary’s role is crucial in determining the final outcomes,” Ganduje stated.
Acknowledging challenges faced during elections in Kano State, Ganduje highlighted the malpractices addressed at the tribunal, leading to a fair judgment in favor of the APC.
He revealed that the Court of Appeal upheld the lower court’s decision, confirming Dr. Nasiru Gawuna as the duly elected Governor of Kano State.
Despite the possibility of further legal action in the Supreme Court, Ganduje assured the public of the APC’s readiness to meet any challenges.
He expressed confidence in securing victory in the Supreme Court and assured the people of Kano State that Gawuna would deliver an administration even more impactful than his own eight-year tenure.
Governor-elect Dr. Nasiru Gawuna expressed joy and gratitude for the Court of Appeal’s affirmation of his victory.
“Whoever goes to court and receives a judgment in their favor undoubtedly feels very happy and grateful to Allah, added Gawuna.
“I am deeply in thought, considering the confidence and expectations of the people.
He prayed against failing the people and pledged to provide an administration that surpasses expectations.
In a related development, the APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka emphasised that the court’s decision solidifies the authentic voice of the Kano electorate, reflecting the March 18, 2023 election results.
“The ruling, which removed Abba Kabi Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) from the Governorship of Kano State, follows closely on a similar court declaration in Zamfara State, where a gubernatorial election was declared inconclusive, leading to a rerun in three Local Government Areas within 24 hours, ” Morka stated.
He highlighted the significance of these court decisions, emphasising the robustness and autonomy of the judiciary.
He stated that these events rekindle confidence in the judiciary’s role as the unwavering guardian of justice in any democratic society.
He commended the judiciary for its courage and professionalism in fulfilling constitutional obligations, Morka urged it to consistently rise above attempts of blackmail or intimidation by vested political interests.
