The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi has urged the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the State to bring back aggrieved members of the party who left during the party primaries.
Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi made the call when he led other members of the House, of APC extraction on a congratulatory visit to the new officials of the party in Lafia.
He said it was in the interest of the party and for the overall development of the State.
Balarabe Abdullahi appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule and other party leaders for electing Hon Aliyu Bello as Chairman and Mr. Yarus Dagusa as Secretary of the party in the State.
The Speaker informed them that the APC as a political party was yet to recover from the crises occasioned by party primaries and urged them to bring back the aggrieved members who had left to develop the party ahead of future elections.
“We believe in your capability and capacity as you have all that it takes to deliver. You are the right person for the job at the moment to take our great party, APC to the next level of development.
“Mr. Chairman, we are all aware of what happened during the party primaries where some people left the party either due to injustice done to them or fairness was not done to them.
“They have left to contest for election in. other parties, I want to appeal to you to bring back all aggrieved members of our party who left the party,” he said.
Abdullahi said APC is the party of the people and its lost glory must be revamped no matter what it takes.
Besides, the Speaker pleaded with the opposition parties to support the government of Governor Abdullahi Sule to succeed.
“We have concluded our defense to the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, I have no doubt in my mind that victory is ours,” he stated.
The Speaker called on the people of the State to support the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule to succeed and to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
Responding, the State APC Chairman, Hon Aliyu Bello, appreciated the Speaker and other members for the visit.
“Mr Speaker, you are a record breaker and setter as you are the first Speaker to be elected three times in the State.
“As a party, we hold you and other members of the House in high esteem,” he said.
Hon Bello expressed happiness that the leadership crisis that rocked the House has been resolved amicably.
The APC Chairman assured of his readiness to reconcile warring factions in the interest of the party.
He urged the members of the House to work in unity while promising to partner with the members for the overall development of the State.
