The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu says his party has offered youths more leadership opportunities than any other party in Nigeria.

Senator Adamu stated this at an interactive session with journalists at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja,  Nigeria’s capital.

While stating the areas that the APC has encouraged young people, he however noted that the youths also have to be enthusiastic and willing to take advantage of such opportunities.

No party has done what we have done in ensuring that youths have a place in the running of the affairs of this country. Our party gave the youths not too young to run and reduction of form fee for youths and zero for intention of interest. These are all part of our plans and desire to prepare youths to have better representation. We are doing a lot to ensure that youths are given a sense of belonging in the running of its affairs” Adamu said.

Also addressing a question on if the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu has the support of those he contested the party’s primaries with, Senator Adamu said all the aspirants were supporting Mr. Tinubu.

Recall that Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Ameachi, among others contested the APC presidential ticket with Mr. Bola Tinubu.

However, there has been silence from the contenders of the presidential ticket which has led to speculations on if they are in support of the winner of the ticket.

The APC National Chairman while speaking on the issue challenged the media to speak to the aspirants to hear their true position on the matter.

He noted that the party has been working on reconciling aggrieved members of the party.

To the best of our knowledge they are supporting Tinubu. One thing which the fourth estate of the realm owe as a duty is that each of the aspirants for the presidency of this country that presented themselves during the June convention of the party are still alive.

“I don’t see any reason why you have not taken the initiative having observed or having the state of mind to know where do they stand today, none of you have any restrictions to meeting any of these candidates.

“It is not for me to observe, to start talking for them if you notice anything that is not the normal. Or you want something from them that you have not seen. Nothing stops you from talking to any of them.

“As for reconciliation, it is a work in progress. We have been doing that, we have been talking to them individually. They are always around in the political space. You can always meet them and ask whatever your curiosity or anxiety is. Go to them and see what they tell you”. Adamu said.
