APC Presidential Candidate Promises To Revamp Agriculture Sector

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has assured of his government commitment to rebuild and restructure the Bank of Agriculture in his agricultural development plan for Nigeria.

Bola Tinubu stated this during a town hall meeting with northern Agro and commodities groups in Minna, Niger state capital in North Central Nigeria.

The APC Presidential Candidate who also assured farmers across the country of adequate protection for their products both at home and internationally; added that his government will provide ways of protecting the farmers and their produce.

“The government will create values to your farm produce, to help you to produce in a manner that other people would like to buy your product but not to reject them”

“We promised that nothing you produced will be destroyed, I also sympathised with the victims of flood disasters across the country, and promised that my government will be with the farmers to implement all our programs and keep our promises to you”.

The APC Presidential Candidate who commended a paper delivered by the Governor of Kebbi State Alhaji Atiku Bagudu on agricultural development in the Country, on the spot created a committee of the leadership of farmers in the country to be chaired by Atiku Bagudu.

“The responsibility of the committee is to fashion out a blueprint of agricultural road map for the future of agriculture in the country, pending his election as president come 2023.

“His paper contains the most critical and most promising road map to prosperity for farmers and the future of Nigeria’s”

The Governor of Niger State Abubakar Bello, who stated that his government has various plans for supporting the development of agriculture across the State, mentioned that he has reactivated about 19 moribund irrigation schemes, as well as the rehabilitation of over 300km of rural access roads through the implementation of the Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP II) programme.

“Niger State has attracted 5 International Investors for the production diary and other associated livestock products, and over 1,300 hectares of pasture plots have been fully developed and basic facilities provided towards”.

The National President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Architect Kabir Ibrahim who endorsed Tinubu for president, says “I’m speaking on behalf of all the farmers of Nigeria, that we’ve thrown our weight behind the Presidency of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima”.

“All the farmers in the country have endorsed your candidature and we know you will fulfill your promises”.

The President of Miyetti Allah Kautal hore, Alhaji Abdullahi Bodejo, The president of a Fulani social-cultural group, has endorsed Tinubu for President, he pleaded for the support and commitment of Tinubu on the silent issues affecting herders across the country, whose contribution to the economic survival in Nigeria is enormous,

“We need a permanent solution to the lingering farmer, nomads conflicts across the country, we are also concerned about victims affected by conflict and other related issues such as relief assistance, education, livestock development and national livestock transformation programme’’.

The national chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, Director General of the presidential campaign council, Simon Lalong, Kebbi state governor Atiku Bagudu and a host of other stakeholders in APC attended the gathering.
