Reconciliation Committee

Currently there are disputes within the APC in Edo state which got worse when the Edo State House of Assembly suspended the Speaker and Deputy Speaker last week.

The APC has majority in the Edo State House of Assembly.

But the party at the National level set up a fact finding and Reconciliation Committee on Monday to resolve the crisis within the party in Edo state before the governorship election.

Senator Izunasor said the committee had two weeks to work.

“The committee has two weeks to finish their job. It commences its job on Monday. They will move to Benin on Wednesday. They would have rounded off by next week.  The party will look at their report and take a decision. We have accommodated the period of reconciliation in the proposed timetable.

“We believe that before we get to the point of primaries, which is up to a month from now, everything about misunderstanding in that state will have been sorted out. The issues are not as serious as we have been made to understand. Certainly, it will be sorted out” he said.

The present governor, Mr. Adams Oshiomole who is a member of APC will end his tenure as governor in September.
