The ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC in Lagos State Southwest Nigeria says it remains confident of victory in the next year’s general elections.

The party also allayed the fear of the opposition taken over from the current Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other prospective candidates lined up for the elections.

The Publicity Secretary of the Party, Mr. Seye Oladejo, explained that the leadership hierarchy of the party and other critical stakeholders are unified on all fronts to deliver the State again.

Oladejo mentioned that the administration of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has delivered on its mandate in the last years and more and would spring to victory.

“The preparation of the next election begins with the inauguration of a new government especially if you are the ruling party. To that extent, you must have ensured that you had fulfilled all your electoral promises, a social contract with the people, and ensure that you run an inclusive and responsive government and you can showcase whole lots of achievements during the next elections.”

“And Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has done so much in this regard, in terms of fulfilling the THEMES agenda, which covers all sectors from Tourism, Education, Health, Infrastructure, Entertainment and with lots of legacy projects to show to Lagosians for them to have a confidence in him and to give him the second chance,” he said

Campaign committee

He added the Campaign committee which was recently inaugurated by the party has veterans that would facilitate a smooth process towards the Governorship elections in the State, stressing that the opposition is only groping in the dark, with their numerous unfounded arguments.

According to him, “We have inaugurated our campaign committee and we have some of the best hands who have seen whole lots of elections and we are very positive about the outcomes of the next election.”

He said that the party was more concerned about the quality and quantity of the votes, and they are confident of retaining the leadership and hoisting the flag of the party after the next elections.

Going forward

“We have our work cut out for us, unlike in the past, we are going to take the campaigns to the doorsteps of the would-be voters and try to reach them at their comfort zones.

“Lagos has about 7 million voters strength and we are going to ensure that we reach out to them selling our programs and candidates to let them know that we remain the party that will be able to deliver and we have our campaign structures in all the three senatorial districts, local government, and local council development areas, all wards, zones, and streets. You find us in every household in the state and the results will show at the end of the day. We have nothing to fear, absolutely nothing.” he added

The APC mouthpiece however stressed that the party remains popular in the State and assured residents to look forward to better days ahead.
