The All Progressives Congress (APC) has affirmed its commitment to hosting a rally in Kano state this Saturday, despite looming protests by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

APC stakeholders from Kano addressed some of the concerns raised at a press conference in Abuja, emphasising the state’s capacity to accommodate both events peacefully.

While highlighting Kano’s historical role as a hub for conferences and investments during the APC’s administration, stakeholders expressed concern about the NNPP’s alleged intimidation tactics since assuming office.

Legal action

The APC accused the NNPP of torching party headquarters and properties, citing a contentious election outcome that led to legal action.

The APC detailed a series of alleged threats and acts of violence by the NNPP, including attempts to influence the tribunal’s judgment and sponsored protests.

With tensions escalating since Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s returned to Kano, the APC called on law enforcement to ensure security during their upcoming rally, claiming intelligence on planned mass protests targeting key party figures.
