The All Progressives Congress, APC, Vice-Chairman Northwest, Salihu Lukman, has expressed worries over poor results of voter registration in the zone.
As a result, the Zonal office has concluded arrangements to establish a special room that will monitor the progress of the exercise in the zone.
Addressing a press conference in Kaduna, the party National Vice Chairman, Northwest, Salihu Lukman, noted that the statistics as regards voter registration in the zone are worrisome.
He pointed out that, as leaders given the mandate to pilot the zone’s activities, it is their responsibility to ensure the situation gets corrected.

“We have taken steps to address the situation. We have resolved to set up what we call the special room,” Lukman disclosed.
According to him, the zonal office will look at the ways and means of establishing more robust relationships with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, concerning the registration of voters.
Lukman said this has become necessary because the electoral body did not provide the logistics in some areas.
“We will take all the steps to ensure the process is complete.
“Thus, we want to appeal to the public, especially our members and supporters, to do anything necessary to ensure that registration receives adequate priority.
“Unless we have registered voters, the many supporters around us will not make sense if they are not registered. So for us, this issue is very central.
“Fortunately, even with our recent meeting with the governors, ministers, and other stakeholders in the zone, they advised we should set up a research and planning committee.
“This is what we are going to do today, and members of the committee will be in charge of the special room,” he emphasised.
