Members of the Plateau State House of Assembly say that Plateau State will be a turning point for the governing All progressives Congress, APC, given its strategic location as a driver of central Nigeria.

The Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Naanlong Daniel stated this at the party’s headquarters in Abuja, the nation’s capital while congratulating Professor Nentawe Yilwatada on his appointment as the National Chairman of the APC.

Accompanied by 21 members of the House, the Speaker expressed optimism that Professor Yilwatada’s appointment would change the narrative and address the aspirations of the people, particularly as the party moves towards the 2027 elections.

‘In Plateau State, we have 22 members of the Plateau State House of Assembly who are APC. And if you cascade it down to our various wards, we have structures all over the place, campaigning for APC and the Renew Hope Agenda .We are doing that collectively, knowing fully well that if we do not stand to promote the party, of course, the chances are that we might not be able to make it in 2027,” he said.

He pledged maximum support to Professor Yilwatada and the APC, emphasising the party’s strength in Plateau State.

“So what we are doing silently that people are not aware is the simple fact that as a House, we have a caucus. And in this caucus, each one of us is engaging these people. And we have a meeting point where we share ideas, and we have a meeting point where we share ideas, and get feedbacks of those things that we are doing.”

The Speaker said that the party’s momentum would continue to build, especially as the party moves towards the 2027 elections.

He expressed optimism that Professor Yilwatada’s appointment would change the narrative in Plateau and beyond, particularly as the party moves towards the 2027 elections.

Earlier, the National Chairman urged the lawmakers to work closely with party stalwarts in Plateau State and neighboring States in the North to ensure the party’s victory in the 2027 elections.
