Apple to Produce M4 Chip for All Macs Update

Apple is close to producing M4 computer processors with AI processing capabilities and plans to update every Mac model with them.

The updated computers, which are aimed to be released late this year and early next year, would include new iMacs, a low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro, high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and Mac minis.

PC manufacturers have experienced a decline since the end of the pandemic-induced surge in sales for remote work and learning.

The industry is banking on a new generation of laptops and desktops with more powerful chips capable of handling AI tasks like document summarization without relying on cloud data transmission.

Intel and other competitors, including Qualcomm and Nvidia, are developing similar chips to meet this demand.

Apple intends to showcase the AI processing capabilities of the new chips and their integration with the next version of macOS, as per the Bloomberg report.

The news precedes Apple’s annual developers conference in June, where reports suggest the company might announce new AI partnerships and unveil significant changes to iOS.

Apple’s Mac sales declined by 27% in its most recent fiscal year ended in September. In October, Apple introduced the current-generation M3 chips alongside new MacBook Pro and iMac computers.
