Apple Unveils New MacBook Air with Upgrades
New MacBook Air models were unveiled by Apple on Wednesday, bringing an improved videoconferencing camera and a faster M4 chip to their best-selling laptop.
The new models were given a $100 price reduction in the United States, despite President Donald Trump’s tariffs that experts warned might raise the cost of electronics.
The 13-inch MacBook Air now starts at $999, while the 15-inch version starts at $1,099. Users can opt for additional memory and storage upgrades.
Retaining the same design as last year’s model, the new MacBook Air now comes in a fresh sky blue color and supports three external monitors.
The new models will be available for purchase starting March 12.

The MacBook Air is one of Apple’s most crucial products, with Mac sales rising 15% in the December quarter, reaching nearly $9 billion.
This increase was driven by higher sales of laptops, despite overall Mac sales, including desktops, being lower than fiscal 2022 levels—a period marked by elevated computer sales due to the pandemic’s work and school-from-home demands.
Apple’s announcement of the new MacBook Air models concludes a series of recent product releases. On Wednesday, Apple also unveiled a high-end Mac Studio desktop equipped with a chip capable of advanced AI tasks.
Additionally, on Tuesday, the company upgraded its iPad Air with an M4 chip, and last month, it introduced the budget-friendly iPhone 16e.
The Mac Studio offers enhanced processing power and is designed for professionals in computer graphics, audio or video production, and artificial intelligence.
The base model starts at $1,999, with more powerful configurations priced over $14,000.
