The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has ahead of the Arafat slated for Thursday 5th June 2025, (tomorrow), prayed for sound health for Nigerian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, urged them to use the period to pray for peace and unity for the country.
He also reminded them to explore the opportunity to get closer to Almighty Allah in body and soul by performing the obligatory spiritual exercise of the sacred day of Arafat with the fear of God, heart of piety and spirit of brotherhood among themselves in order to have the full reward of this year’s hajj.
The Emir stated this in his goodwill message sent to all Nigerians in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued by his spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona. He stressed that “Hajj is a pillar of Islam which is fostering unity and harmony among Muslim Ummah globally”.
Arafat Day sacred to Muslims
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari emphasized that Arafat Day is a sacred day to all Muslim Ummah across the world especially to pilgrims who have left everything behind including family members in search of Allah’s forgiveness and mercies in the Holy land.
He also cautioned them to be vigilant and careful with their belongings and avoid lost of money and other valuables while performing the obligatory spiritual rites.
He sent the heartfelt greetings of the entire members of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council to the pilgrims including the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq among other dignitaries.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, however, prayed Allah to grant them sound health and absolute guidance to complete the exercise with total acceptance from Allah and urged the people at home to continue to pray for the safe return of all family members who will come home to celebrate the sallah festival from different parts of the country; a successful journey.
