Nigerian Leaders have been called to imbibe the spirit of selflessness and genuine care for the people.
Archbishop Kaigama made the call during a Thanksgiving Mass at Pro-Cathedral, Abuja, the nation’s capital, as part of activities to mark NAPTIP @ 20 as 2023 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is commemorated.
The Cleric who encouraged Nigerians to be hopeful despite the economic, security and other challenges they are currently faced with, also called on leaders in Nigeria to address the sufferings of the masses.
The Archbishop while commending the Management of NAPTIP for their efforts in the fight against trafficking in Persons, also prayed for more wisdom for the DG, NAPTIP, Professor Fatima Waziri Azi to reduce the ugly trend.
He also pledged support to the leadership of NAPTIP through the Church’s collaborative effort of its Justice Development and Peace Commission to tackle the menace of Human Trafficking across the country.
Speaking shortly after the Holy Mass, the DG, NAPTIP, Professor Fatima Waziri Azi reiterated the Agency’s commitment to scale efforts in terms of sensitising rural communities.
She revealed further that NAPTIP also partners with governments at all levels by investing in social economic issues and empowerments programmes for the youths especially victims of human trafficking.
