The Arewa Economic Forum has called for an inclusive government in Nigeria, in its reforms to accommodate and allow investors do business in non-oil sector of the nation.

The Chairman, Arewa Economic Forum, Ibrahim Yahaya, made the call when the team made a courtesy call on the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris in Abuja, the Nation’s capital.

According to Mr. Yahaya, Nigeria is enriched in numerous resources outside oil such as the agriculture which when properly harnessed can turn around the economic fortunes of Nigeria.

“I congratulate the federal government of Nigeria for the economic recovery and the future plans that the government has, and is in view of this that we saw the executive order that was recently released, which is something that is far reaching and far sighted document which will harness the capacity of this great nation of ours especially in that particular area of the petroleum industry.

“We appreciate what the federal government has done and the plan and vision that is attached to that document. However whenever the federal government is doing something, we will like it to be an encompassing approach so that all sectors and all parts of the nation will benefit from the vision that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has for the nation especially economic recovery and growth,” he said.

The Chairman further noted that the forum will continue to support the current administration to succeed in its economic reforms.

“We will stand by at all times on all issues to work together with the federal government and the ministry to see that the government succeeds in all that it is trying to do, because the success of the federal government is the success of all Nigerians. We will continue to point out where we think there is room for improvement and we will like to have more close relationship to bring succor to our people,” he noted.

Responding, Nigeria’s Minister of information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris explained that the executive order signed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is to remove the hitches and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

“The executive order that the President has signed is to ensure that one will take full benefits of the resource we have in this country, and enable investors who are coming in to see that it is easy for them to bring in their investments. It is also aimed at ensuring that Nigeria as a country, takes full benefits of this God given potentials and the investors also reap the benefit of their investments. The president has assured that any investor that is bringing money into this country is assured of taking his money back provided he follows the laid down procedures,” he explained.

The Minister while appreciating the Arewa Forum for acknowledging the government’s efforts in transforming the nation, also commended the group’s support.

He urged Nigerians to continue to have full trust in the efforts which the present government is making to ensure that the nation is transformed and the citizens live happily and secured.
