Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has tasked soldiers with the proper utilization of facilities in their domains across the country.

The Army Chief who was represented by Major General Benson Akinroluyo (Retired), stated this at the commissioning ceremony of the remodelled Soldiers’ Club and Warrant Officers and Sergeants’ Mess at the Minna Military Cantonment, Minna, Niger State.

Maj. Gen. Akinroluyo was also one of the resource persons at the Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA) 2024 Doctrine and Leadership Development Workshop for Tactical Commanders.

The two facilities, which have undergone extensive remodelling, now boast state-of-the-art amenities designed to enhance regimentation—a crucial component of on-the-job training across various units and formations of the Nigerian Army (NA).

Maj. Gen. Akinroluyo emphasized the importance of these facilities, urging soldiers to take ownership and make judicious use of the conducive atmosphere provided for relaxation and camaraderie.

In his remarks, the Commander of TRADOC NA, Major General Kevin Aligbe, expressed immense appreciation to Lt. Gen. Lagbaja for graciously approving the necessary funds for the remodeling of the facilities.

He highlighted that the upgraded amenities would significantly boost regimentation among Nigerian Army personnel, fostering a stronger sense of discipline and unity.

Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the soldiers of TRADOC NA, the President of the Mess Committee (PMC) for the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess, Master Warrant Officer Sanda Kasimu, expressed deep gratitude to the Commander of TRADOC NA for his purposeful leadership and foresight.

He acknowledged the positive impact these facilities would have on the morale and welfare of the soldiers.
