Army Commander Visits Troops, Commissions Project

The Force Commander of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General Saidu Audu has conducted a strategic operational assessment visit to the Headquarters of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) at Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri.

During the visit, General Audu, who recently assumed command of MNJTF, emphasised the importance of collaboration and sustained vigilance in stabilising the Lake Chad Basin.

He commended the Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, for detailed operational briefs and stressed the need to refine strategies and incorporate emerging threats.

According to a statement by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Theatre Command, Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the visit featured operational briefings on efforts to secure the Lake Chad waterways and safeguard economic activities in the area.

General Audu also commissioned the newly completed Sector 3 Officers’ Transit Accommodation, a modern facility with eight fully furnished one-bedroom flats, aimed at enhancing troop welfare.

The Theatre Commander described the visit as timely and significant, highlighting the opportunity to strengthen MNJTF-OPHK synergy.

The initiative aligns with the Chief of Army Staff’s “Soldiers First” culture, prioritising troop welfare.
