Army Records Exceptional Performance In Officers Promotion Exam

The Nigeria Army says its candidates have achieved unprecedented results,
after taking part in a recent promotion examination.

While speaking to newsmen in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the Examination President of the Force, Major-General Aligbe expressed his satisfaction, highlighting the exceptional conduct of the candidates throughout the rigorous exercises leading up to the examination.

Major General Aligbe said; “We have witnessed a fantastic exercise where candidates conducted themselves with utmost discipline and enthusiasm.

As a result, we have achieved a level of success that we have not seen in quite some time.”

“We have 100% for all the candidates both the ones in Abeokuta and the 66 other candidates who took part in the same exercise in the North East because they could not be pulled out so we have an in-theatre examination for them and they also passed,” Major- General Aligbe noted.

He said; “It will interest you to know that we have two candidates, who we wanted to step aside due to some medical issues but they joined and completed the 3.2km race.”

Major-General Aligbe expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff for the resources allocated to ensure the successful completion of the examination.

He also acknowledged the support of Nigerians, Ogun State Government especially Governor Dapo Abiodun for their contributions to the 81 Division’s comfortable stay in the state during the examination period.

Major-General Aligbe said that the candidates now eagerly anticipate their nominations to attend the Junior Staff Course, the Armed Forces Command as well as Staff College, or similar courses in friendly countries.

He also said that “the promotion examination represents just one step in the officers’ career advancement journey, as they proceed to the Junior Staff Course and the Senior Staff Qualifying Examination.”

The combination of their performance in these courses, along with their practical results, will determine their promotion to the rank of Major,” Major Aligbe said.

The Examination President emphasised the significance of this achievement in enhancing the morale of the military officers.

Their success here will undoubtedly impact the way they perform in the field, ultimately contributing to our overall success in various operations,” Maj-General Aligbe added.
