Association calls for adequate security around Schools in Nigeria

The National President of the Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria, Haruna Danjuma has called on the Federal and State governments to provide adequate security around schools as they resume on Monday, 5 September 2022.
In a statement made available to the Journalists in Kaduna State, he stressed the importance of providing adequate security guards at the school premises to avert the activities of bandits and kidnappers disturbing students’ education.
“We are begging all the 36 states and Federal Government of Nigeria to help us and protect our Children through the provisions of adequate security forces at the school premises.“
According to him, Covid 19 pandemic is still a threat hence the need for the provision of face masks, hand sanitisers and educate the students on social distancing.
While pleading with the Federal government and ASUU to go back to the dialogue table so as to end the strike action that is affecting the quality of education in Nigeria.
Danjuma equally reminded Kebbi State and Federal Government to double up efforts towards rescuing some kidnapped female secondary school students at Yawuri adding that some are still in captivity for over 450 days.
He then commended the efforts of the gallant Nigerian Army for tackling security challenges bedevilling the peace and stability in the country.
Similarly, a Coalition of Northern Women also commended the Nigerian Army and Government over the successful dislodgement of bandits and terrorist hideouts in Kaduna forests.
The National President, Foundation for the Protection of Women and Children in Nigeria, Ramatu Tijjani in a chat with Media in Kaduna, commended the gallant security personnel and volunteer security groups for dislodgement of terrorists’ enclaves across the forests and other neighbouring states.
According to her, military operations in Kaduna Forestry have crippled down activities of bandits
She, therefore, called on Nigerians and Religious leaders to keep praying for peace and unity.
