AU Re-Election : President Tinubu Congratulates Ambassador Adeoye

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Ambassador Bankole Adeoye on his re-election as the African Union (AU) Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace, and Security, describing it as a “well-deserved” victory.

President Tinubu stated on his verified X handle, @officialABAT, on Wednesday that Ambassador Adeoye’s leadership and dedication to conflict resolution, governance, and regional stability have been instrumental in advancing Africa’s security architecture.

In a related development, President Tinubu responded to Nigeria’s re-election into the AU Peace and Security Council with outstanding 46 votes out of 47.

The President said the re-elections are victory for Nigeria and the continent of Africa as Nigeria continue to work with other nations on the continent to achieve a safer and more united Africa.

“These re-elections are a victory for Nigeria and the entire continent as we work towards a safer and more united Africa,”

President Tinubu emphasised that Nigeria remains committed to fostering peace and stability across the region.

The President highlighted Nigeria’s ongoing collaboration with fellow African nations and the AU, reaffirming the country’s dedication to strengthening the continent’s security framework.

“Nigeria plays and will continue to play a defining role in shaping Africa’s peace and security landscape. Our collaborative efforts with fellow African nations and the African Union underscore our commitment to this critical endeavour,” he said.

President Tinubu expressed confidence that Ambassador Bankole’s continued leadership would enhance Africa’s collective response to security challenges and promote democratic governance.
