Aviation Minister Explores Business Partnerships with France

The Nigerian Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development,  Mr Festus Keyamo has led a  Nigerian delegation on a four-day bilateral working visit to France, as part of measures to strengthen cooperation and explore business opportunities in the aviation sector between both countries.
The visit  is tagged “NIGERIA-FRANCE BILATERAL BUSINESS FORUM.”
The bilateral business meeting commenced on Tuesday, March 5, with the Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and the Director General of the French Civil Aviation, Damien Caze, and his team.
Keyamo presented a compelling roadmap for the Nigerian aviation industry, emphasising the urgent need for infrastructure upgrade and inviting private investors to participate in civil aviation industry in the country.
During the session, stakeholders from the Nigerian delegation, including Managing Director Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku,  Chief Executive Officer Nigeria Airspace Management Agency NAMA Mr Farouk, as well as the Acting Director General of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority NCAA Captain Chris Najomo , delivered insightful presentations on topics ranging from aircraft financing and insurance to the modernisation of navigational equipment and capacity building initiatives.
The French aviation stakeholders, including PROAVIA, ASTech Paris Region, and BPI France, expressed keen interest in partnering with Nigeria, acknowledging the country’s vast potential in the aviation industry.
Vice President of AerCap, Mr Gad Wavomba also pledged to explore business opportunities with Nigeria while citing the country’s attractiveness for investment.
The visit includes prominent Nigerian experts from the aviation sector both from government and private sector with the aim of ensuring that civil aviation industry has growth in Nigeria to meet international standards.
Following the meetings in Paris, the delegation will proceed to Marseille, visit the Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, and conclude the business discussions in Orly with an audience with the management of Thales.
Keyamo expressed optimism about the outcomes of the visit aexpressed confident that the  bilateral engagement will pave the way for fruitful collaborations and investment opportunities in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
