Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo has charged the new Board members of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, to ensure Safety and Security, promote sustainable development, enhance passengers ‘ experience, and foster collaboration.
The Minister made the charge during the inauguration of the new FAAN Board members in Abuja, the nation’s Capital.
The Minister further urged the board members to work in harmony with the FAAN staff to promote the mandate of the agency and the ministry at large in line with the Renew Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“As you embark on this new chapter, remember that the eyes of the nation are upon you. The success of FAAN is not measured merely by financial growth but by the impact it has on the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
“Your work will ensure that our airports become not just gateways to the world but also symbols of national pride and progress.
“As we inaugurate this new board, we carry the weight of expectation that we must continue to foster an environment where aviation can thrive, connect diverse regions, and promote socioeconomic development across our nation,” the Minister said.
Earlier in his speech, the New Chairman of the board, former Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC, Umar Ganduje, pledged to do their best in ensuring that FAAN has achieved its desired goal and also charged the other members to work assiduously for the success of the Authority.
” We must appreciate President Bola Tinubu for finding us worthy of this appointment to serve as the board members of the great institution. Minister, I assured you that FAAN under us is going to be great by Allah’s grace, and we will work as a team to ensure success.
In her remarks, the Managing Director of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAA, Ms Olubunmi Kuku, expressed her gratitude for the new Board members and expressed her readiness to work with them in ensuring that the FAAN continues to satisfy passengers.
She further pledged to provide all the necessary support for FAAN to enhance her service delivery and satisfy Nigerian passengers abroad.
The new Board members include: Umar Ganduje as the Chairman, Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of FAAN, Dorothy Durauka, Director of International Tourism Relations and Corporation, Ahmed Sulaiman, Director of Air Force Affairs, Engineer Nasiru Muazu, Dr Omozojia Okono, Bridget Gold, and Engineer Vembe, Director of Aerodrome Development Department Federal Ministry of Aviation.
