Aviation Minister Inspects Ekiti Agro-Allied Cargo Airport

In line to enhance Agricultural Products exportation, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has made a two-day working visit to Ekiti State, Southwest Nigeria, to inspect the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport in Ado-Ekiti.

This visit was aimed at assessing the airport’s readiness for non-schedule passenger operations.

The visit was revealed via a Press Statement by Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Tunde Moshood

The Minister was warmly received by the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Abiodun Abayomi, alongside key members of the Ekiti State Government.

During the inspection, Keyamo commended the state-of-the-art facilities and the airport’s international-standard runway, which positions it as a hub for agro-cargo and emerging passenger operations.

“The recent approval by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for non-schedule passenger operations marks a significant milestone in the airport’s development.” Keyamo said

Coinciding with the Minister’s visit as the celebration of his 55th birthday; the Governor eulogized the Minister and expressed gratitude for his unwavering commitment to aviation.

“The Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport is strategically positioned to support Nigeria’s non-oil export strategy, providing farmers and exporters with seamless access to international markets. With its operational advancements and continued support from the Federal Government, the airport is set to become a catalyst for socio-economic development.” reports said.

The Minister’s visit reaffirms the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development’s dedication to creating a robust and inclusive aviation ecosystem that supports both cargo and passenger operations.
