Banyana set for Netherlands test

The South African Senior Women’s team will finally be put to the test against Netherlands on Tuesday 12 April at the Ado Den Haang Stadium.

This comes after three days of training and acclimatization in the Netherlands.

Defender Bambanani Mbane believes this “will be one of the biggest tests ahead of the coming African Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco.

“Mentally we have to be strong heading into this game against such a team, but I am happy with how we have performed leading up to this. The team spirit is high.” 

“We need games like these to measure how far we are in terms of preparation as a team, where we can improve and also help each other with improving.”

This will be the third meeting between the two sides, with Orange winning 2-0 in 2016 and 2-1 in 2019.
