Bauchi Governor Empowers Youths And Women

Bauchi State government, Senator Bala Mohammed has disbursed cash and empowerment materials worth over one hundred and eighty million naira (N180m) to artisans and small scale business operators in Bauchi Local Government Area.

The initiative under the Governor’s economic empowerment programme was aimed at creating job opportunities among youth and women as well as proving the economic activities across the state.

Voice of Nigeria reports that a similar gesture has been replicated in nineteen other local government areas while a total of over two billion naira was expended for the entire programme.

Distributing items

Distributing the items at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed said after the provision of physical infrastructure, his administration has decided to directly touch the lives of citizens through the empowerment initiative.

Bala Mohammed said seventy-five million has been expended in each of the nineteenth local governments.

Bauchi local government received special consideration due to its demographic nature.

According to the Governor, the ongoing construction of the Azare Ultra-modern market and the move to replicate the same in other areas are to enhance commercial activities in all parts of the state.

Some of the beneficiaries who commended Governor Bala Mohammed for impacting positively their lives; promised to use the items for the purpose they were meant for.

Items distributed include starter packs, sawing and grinding machines, motorcycles and buses.
