The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, PDP-GF has congratulated Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa state on his re-election.
The forum Chairman of the forum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, attributed Diri’s victory to his good stewardship during his first tenure in office.
Mohammed described it as a well fought and well deserved victory.
“A victory and validation for hard work, good governance engendered by enthroning a culture of peaceful coexistence, unity, progressive and people oriented, and people driven agenda,” he said.
Mohammed commended Diri for his fair mindedness and even spread of infrastructural projects to all sections and segments of the state in his first term.
He also commended Diri’s peace initiatives across Bayelsa and the PDP immediately on assumption of office in 2019.
This, according to Mohammed, created the enabling environment for his developmental projects and programmes to thrive.
“We are confident that Diri would continue to deliver life changing dividends of democracy to the indigenes and residents of the state, who affirmed their choice by voting for him again at the polls,“ he said.
Mohammed commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for ensuring the integrity of the election through the proper usage of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS in instilling public confidence in the electoral process.
Mohammed howeverr urged the Bayelsa state governor to continue his famed magnanimity in victory.
He also appreciated the people of Bayelsa for taking their destiny in their hands by their massive support for their beloved son in the election.
He also expressed the forum’s appreciation to all PDP governors for the massive backing to Diri before and on the day of the election.
Mohammed appreciated the physical presence in solidarity, led by the Chairman PDP Bayelsa Presidential Campaign, Governor Kefas Agbu of Taraba, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa and Godwin Obaseki of Edo state.
Goveror Douye Diri, polled over one hundred and seventy five thousand votes beating 15 other candidates and was declared winner of the off- cycle Governorship Elections in Bayelsa state by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
