Bayelsa state to donate medical equipment to Olugbobiri General Hospital
The Bayelsa Government has said it would donate critical medical equipment approved for some health facilities in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the State, including the Olugbobiri General Hospital. Gov. Douye Diri disclosed this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Ebenanawei of Olodiama Clan, King Napoleon Orianzi, at Olugbobiri Town, during his campaign tour of the area.

Diri, represented by Deputy Gov. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, also promised to deploy some medical doctors in the general hospital to improve healthcare services in Olugbobiri and other neighbouring communities.
He said that his administration would continue to place premium on the health sector because of the relationship between good health and wealth creation.
The governor, who said the supply of the medical equipment would begin next week, thanked the chief and people for their warm reception and show of love accorded to him.
He implored the people to vote massively for the Peoples Democratic Party during the election, to ensure continuity of good governance and more developmental projects to the community.
“…Are you aware that the governor has approved new equipment for your hospital? And we are going to supply them by next week and even post more doctors to this place,” the governor said.
Earlier at the Ebenanawei Palace, the Paramount Ruler of Olugbobiri, His Royal Highness, Chief Clifford Mangiri, said that Diri’s administration had contributed to the prevailing peace and stability in the state.
Mangiri appreciated the governor for the Yenagoa-Oporoma-Ukubie Road now at Angiama and appealed for the construction of arterial roads to connect more communities in the area, including Olugbobiri.
He said: “We heartily welcome the miracle and peace-loving governor and his team to Olugbobiri Kingdom. I must say we are very much pleased with your style of governance. Since your administration came on board, we have been having relative peace in the state due to the effort you put into security. Your campaign is based on peace and orderly conduct of election,” he added.
