Bayero University Kano Set For 38th Convocation Ceremony

Bayero University Kano, BUK, located in North West Nigeria, is set to hold its 38th convocation ceremony on Saturday, where over eleven thousand students from various faculties will be convocated.

Among them, over 170 Students are with First Class offer, while 370 are Graduating with PhDs.

The Vice Chancellor of the institution Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas said this during a pre-convocation media briefing in Kano.

He said over 3000 are going out with Masters Degree.

Professor Abbas, explained that, “this year’s Convocation is a weeklong event to enable every Student feel the impact of the Graduation.”

He noted that, the Institution is awarding Honorary Doctorate Awards to the Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and the President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adeshina as part of their contributions to their communities and supports to the University.

He further said that, the African Riches and Nigeria’s Billionaire Aliko Dangote is going to deliver a Lecture with a title, the Role of Private Sector in Building a Sustainable Economic Development in Nigeria.

He said, “We are Beginning the Convocation with 6 Faculties, of Agriculture 307, Art And Islamic Studies, Education, Law and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and this year Convocation would be done with a pampered.”
