The Tor Tiv has rejected assertions that the violence in Benue State stems from conflicts between herders and farmers, labeling these claims as misinformation.
James Ayatse made these remarks during the ongoing discussions between President Bola Tinubu and Benue stakeholders on Wednesday.
Ayatse noted that such narratives have encouraged calls for the Benue people to be patient and accommodating.
He emphasised that the killings represent a deliberate, well-organized, large-scale genocidal attack and land-grabbing effort in the state, carried out over decades by “herder terrorists and bandits.”
