Senator Abba Moro of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has emerged winner of the Benue South senatorial election in Benue State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer for Benue South senatorial district, in Otukpo, Benue State north-central Nigeria, Robert Ter, who made this known at the collation centre said that Senator Abba scored 76459 votes to beat his main opponent Daniel Onjeh, of the All Progressive Congress, APC who polled 59959 votes.
Reacting to his victory, Senator Morro said “I feel very excited and happy and I say glory be to God. I dedicate this victory to God almighty for making this possible against all odds.“
He further thanked the people of the senatorial district saying, “To the good people of zone C senatorial district, my brothers and sisters of Idoma, I want to say thank you. I dedicate this victory after God to the people of Benue South senatorial district.“
Senator Morro reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Idoma land assuring to keep to his campaign promises and make their voices heard in the 10th Senate.
“What they have demonstrated is that they have kept their promises of electing me to go back to the Senate and be their voice and I promise that I will continue to be their voice, I will continue to serve them, I will continue to struggle for them,“ he added.
He, therefore, called on his opponent, to come together and serve the Idoma people.
Abba Moro is a Nigerian educational administrator, politician and former Minister of the Federal Ministry of Interior.
