Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffery Onyeama said the Nigeria and Saudi Arabia Joint Commission is being revitalized as a veritable platform to boost trade between the two countries.
“These are two big countries looking to increase the level of trade between them.
“During the last visit of the Nigerian President to Saudi Arabia he agreed with the Crown Prince on the importance of setting up a business council to bring Nigerian businessmen and Saudi businessmen together to explore areas of trade and business.
“…And also to revitalize a framework that we already have for cooperation and this is a Joint Commission, so we hoping to have another one.
“The last one took place quite a long time ago in Saudi Arabia, over six years ago and we want to have another one by the end of this year so that we can really identify and put in place a roadmap for further cooperation between our two countries,” said Onyeama.
The Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, said his country and Nigeria have intensified their efforts in boosting their trade relations for the benefit of the countries.
“We have many many opportunities to cooperate and work together to build a strong partnership,” he said.
Mr. Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, noted that his country has a strong partnership with Nigeria, which they have built over the years, especially business-to-business bonds.
