The Director General of Voice of Nigeria, VON, Osita Okechukwu says with the introduction of the Bimodal Voters Registration System, BVAS, Nigerians will be the factor that will produce the winner of the 2023 general election.
The DG stated this while monitoring the mock election in some polliing unit as scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Abuja.
Mr Okechukwu who commented on the credibility of the BVAS machine, noted that, it would help the commission to attain the yearning and aspiration of every Nigerians who are advocating for a hitch free and credible elections in the country.

He stated that, from what he saw on ground while monitoring the mock election within the nation’s capital Abuja, it was obvious that it would be very difficult to rig election hence forth in the country.

He also commended the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari for approving electronic transmission of results in the law books which is contain in the electoral act 2022.
In his words, ” If it did not reflect in the BVAS, it is difficult to rig elections hence forth. That is why some of us commended Mr President for approving electronic transmission of results in the law books. That is to say electoral act 2022.

“No it is not about guess work, where there is no Smart card reader or BVAS you will not vote. So every polling booths is going to have one, if there is none there is no position to vote on manual basis.
“So we appreciate that because it then means that there will be more confidence and trust in our electoral system. That is why you saw a lot of surge in the voters registration and people trying to collect their permanent voters cards,” VON DG added.
