The ambitious projects embarked upon by the management of Benue Investment and Property Company, BIPC is set to expand its bread production capacity with the creation of over 100 new jobs and provide opportunities for 175 more.
The Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha announced this in Makurdi during inspection tour of ongoing works at a polythene production factory and the annexed branch of the company’s bread manufacturing factory.
With plans for commissioning in the next 15 days, the project aims to meet the growing demand for BIPC products and reduce unemployment in the state.
The expansion will also see the manufacturing of nylon bags, packaged water bags, extrusion, and labeling all done in-house, saving costs and retaining cash flow within the local economy.
The MD added that BIPC intends to extend its production to other Local Governments within the state, particularly Otukpo, Gboko and Katsina-Ala and to reduce the importation of goods from other states.
By printing materials such as leather at home, BIPC estimates a 50% cost savings, with plans to reinvest profits into further expansion and job creation.
“We have a lot of raw materials. One of the things that make us to introduce that leather printing is because we have been printing all along in Lagos for over 27 million”.
The company has already seen significant revenue from its bread sales with over three hundred Million Naira interest and recovery efforts, with the goal of listing on the stock market in the next three years.
BIPC’s initiative according to Dr. Asemakaha promises to revolutionize the local economy, reduce unemployment, and provide quality products to the community at an affordable price.
