Tesla Approves Share Worth $29 Billion To CEO

0

Tesla (TSLA.O), opens new tab has granted CEO Elon Musk shares worth about $29 billion in a new pay deal aimed at keeping the billionaire entrepreneur at the helm during a crucial pivot from its struggling core auto business to robotaxis and humanoid robots.

The company described the “interim award” of the 96 million new shares as a first step, “good faith” payment to honor Musk’s more than $50 billion pay package from 2018 that was struck down by a Delaware court last year.

Musk can claim the new award if he remains in a top executive role for another two years and a court does not reinstate the 2018 package currently on appeal.

He has to hold the shares for five years and can buy them for $23.34 per share, the same as the exercise price of the 2018 award. Tesla will also put to vote a longer-term CEO compensation plan at its annual investor meeting on November 6.

The move is meant to keep Musk, the public face of Tesla and architect of its robotaxi strategy, focused on the electric-vehicle maker as it navigates a shift to cybercabs and robotics from its mainstay auto business.

  • It also seems to quell any speculation that the board’s patience with Musk could be wearing thin because of the recent tumultuous months, including the CEO’s foray into politics.

The move to give Musk greater control of the company suggests that directors still see him as best-suited to tackle Tesla’s growing list of challenges in the years ahead.

Sales have been falling at the company due to its aging vehicle line-up, tough competition and Musk’s right-wing political stances that have tarnished its brand.

S&P Global Mobility data shared exclusively with Reuters showed on Monday that Tesla’s brand loyalty had plunged since Musk endorsed U.S. President Donald Trump last summer.

Musk’s involvement in politics and his wider business empire, including AI startup xAI, have also sparked concerns about his devotion to Tesla, the main source of his wealth. Musk has threatened to leave unless he gets more control over Tesla.

We Are Proud of Nigerian Women – President Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has hailed Nigerian women for consistently projecting the country’s image positively, especially in the area of sports.

He made the remark on Monday while hosting African female basketball champions, D’Tigress of Nigeria, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The reception in honour of the national female basketball team was a moment of reflection and jubilation, following their historic feat of winning the African championship for a record fifth consecutive time.

President Tinubu, who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, said Nigerian women have always made the nation proud.

“It is a great honour, on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, to welcome our formidable D’Tigress to the State House. Once again, you are continental champions and now the top African team to qualify for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup pre-qualifying tournament. You conquered Africa with a score of 78 to 64—showcasing not just tactical skill, but remarkable determination and resilience. The entire nation stands behind you with pride and support.”

“My dear daughters, you faced challenges bravely, especially in the final quarter, responding not with panic but with poise. When you wore the green and white, it was more than just a uniform—you wore it with purpose, and now you wear the crown of African basketball for the fifth consecutive time.”

The President said the performance of D’Tigress reflects a broader truth about Nigerian women’s consistent excellence in global sports.

“Let us reflect on one profound truth: Nigerian women have never failed the nation in sports. From the Super Falcons on the world stage, to record-breakers on the track, and now a basketball dynasty, our women have consistently been a source of pride and have proven that where preparation meets opportunity, Nigerian excellence prevails,” he said.

President Tinubu also praised the coach of the team, Rena Wakama, and team captain Amy Okonkwo for their exemplary leadership.

“Beyond being ambassadors of our nation and symbols of excellence, you have reminded us all of the power of sports to unite a diverse nation. Your victory is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together. You have brought home not just a trophy, but valuable lessons for all Nigerians.”

“Coach Rena Wakama, you embody the evolution of leadership in Nigerian sports. Your quiet strength and remarkable achievements have shattered ceilings and inspired countless young girls across Nigeria. You truly deserve your accolades as the best coach in Africa and beyond.”

“To Amy Okonkwo, the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, and Ezinne Kalu, the top scorer in the final, your brilliance lifted the whole team, but most importantly, you played for Nigeria and made us all proud.”

He added that his administration is repositioning sports as a pillar for national development, calling on the younger generation to emulate the hardworking spirit of D’Tigress.

“We owe you more than applause. That is why, under this administration, sports are being repositioned as a key pillar for national development and economic growth. Sports is not just entertainment—it is infrastructure, education, diplomacy, and a powerful tool for youth employment and national transformation.”

“Our government will ensure that D’Tigress, their technical team, and sports leadership in Nigeria are appropriately recognized and rewarded. You have made us proud, and we will stand by you as you prepare for the global stage.”

“To all Nigerian youth, let the story of D’Tigress inspire you. Greatness stems from hard work, discipline, and belief. Nigeria belongs to those who dare to dream and are willing to give their all to realize those dreams.”

As part of the national recognition, President Tinubu announced cash rewards of $100,000 for each player, and $50,000 for each coach and technical crew member. He also conferred the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on the entire team and staff.

“D’Tigress: you are champions, role models, pathfinders, and true daughters of this land. It is my honour and privilege, on behalf of President Tinubu, to announce national honours of OON for the team, coach, and technical staff; $100,000 for each player; $50,000 for the coach and technical team; and more rewards to come.”

“This is true leadership—recognizing and rewarding those who have excelled for our nation. May God bless you all, may God bless Nigerian sports, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

The President also commended the National Sports Commission for its renewed focus on athlete welfare, grassroots support, and institutional reform. He lauded the Nigerian Basketball Federation, led by Malam Musa Kida, for sustained team development and commitment to Nigeria’s sporting success.

The event was graced by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and Wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima.

Nigeria’s Vice President Projects Agro-Industrial Revolution With SAPZ

0

The Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, GCON, has said that the timely implementation of the Special Agro–Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Program would drive industrial revolution in the agriculture sector, foster innovation, and ensure inclusive prosperity.

The Vice President, who was represented by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, made this known during the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the SAPZ Program held in Ijaiye, Ibadan, Oyo State, South-Western Nigeria.

Vice President Shettima stated that, “we are laying the foundation for agro-industrial hubs that will empower agro-processors and farmers, stimulate local economies, and make Nigeria a competitive player in global markets.”

He added that, “the program marks a decisive stride in our collective quest to build a resilient, self-sufficient, and prosperous Nigeria.”

He stressed that the initiative is not just an infrastructural project but a bold declaration that Nigeria’s future lies in transforming its abundant agricultural resources into value-added products that fuel industries, generate employment, and uplift farmers.

Shettima noted that “the SAPZ initiative is one of the cornerstones of the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by the President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, a vision rooted in restoring Nigeria’s dignity, unlocking vast potentials, and creating opportunities for every citizen.”

He pointed out that, “it is a testament to unwavering commitment to a future where hope is renewed through concrete action, strategic partnerships, and inclusive growth.”

The Vice President revealed that, “it is a product of strategic partnership between the Federal Government of Nigeria, state governments, and esteemed international development partners, especially the African Development Bank (AfDB), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).”

He lauded the visionary leadership of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, FNSE.

According to him, “your unwavering commitment and dedication to the development of Oyo State have set the stage for this historic occasion. The event exemplifies the spirit of partnership and shared vision that is vital to our nation’s progress.”

He further said, “I had the honor to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and led a high-powered delegation to the just concluded United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to showcase SAPZ as Nigeria’s flagship investment program, where we also held a bilateral engagement with the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Dr. Alvaro Lario, to request additional financing across the participating states to boost productivity.”

He stated that, “this collaborative effort underscores our shared belief that sustainable development in agriculture is achievable only through unity, innovation, and shared responsibility.

“It is a clear indication that Nigeria is committed to leveraging global expertise, capital, and best practices to achieve sustainable growth and social inclusion.”

The Vice President reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to this transformative journey under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

“Accordingly, we are expanding the development benefits of the SAPZ across the 36 states, in collaboration with the African Development Bank, to onboard 27 more states in tranches, starting with 10 states by the first quarter of 2026, following financing procedures between the Federal Government and the financing partners.”

The highlight of the event was the flag-off of the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the SAPZ Program by the Hon. Minister of Agriculture and Food Security and the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde.

Women’s Reserved Seats Bill to be Voted in October

0

Nigeria’s Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, says the parliament will vote on the Special Seats Bill for Women alongside other key constitutional amendment bills upon resumption of plenary in October 2025.

He disclosed this during a roundtable reception on the Reserved Seats for Women Bill, organised by The Osasu Show (TOS) with support from the Embassy of Switzerland in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Mr. Kalu stressed that the proposed legislation is not driven by sentiment but by compelling evidence and the realities of Nigeria’s political landscape.

“As the sponsor of the Reserved Seats for Women Bill, I want to make this abundantly clear: this bill is not born out of sentiment. It is born out of reason, out of evidence, out of the stubborn facts of our current reality. It is rooted in the belief that justice delayed is democracy denied,” he said.

He highlighted the underrepresentation of women in Nigeria’s political space, noting that only 3.8 percent of the current 10th National Assembly comprises women.

“Nigeria is a nation of over 220 million people, and nearly half (49.3 percent) of this population are women. And yet, the number of women who sit at the table of power in this country is painfully low. In the current 10th National Assembly, only 19 out of 469 legislators are women (just 3.8 percent). In the House of Representatives, there are only 15 women out of 360. In the Senate, only 4 out of 109. Across all 36 states, we have not a single female governor. And in our State Houses of Assembly (out of 991 seats), only 45 are occupied by women. That’s a mere 4.5 percent,” he said.

The Deputy Speaker urged women’s groups to intensify lobbying efforts and engage stakeholders with influence over legislators and political decisions.

“Keep the advocacy alive. Keep doing it, keep lobbying, there’s no time. We don’t have time. It’s our desire to vote on these constitutional review provisions once we are back from recess. That’s to show you there’s no time.

The people you’re talking to must be people who have influence over those that will vote or the voters themselves. So tell your religious leaders, political big players, the wives of the parliamentarians and so on.

The language of advocacy should change too. Appeal to them. Reach out to prominent women in this country. Let them come on board. Reach out to influencers, there’s no time. Barely 60 days remaining,” he said

He also pointed out that the bill aligns with both the House’s legislative agenda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The 10th House of Representatives, under the purposeful leadership of Speaker Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, GCFR, has placed inclusion at the centre of its legislative vision. This commitment aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which anchors national development on equity, justice, and opportunity. Through progressive policies and appointments, the President has shown a clear intent to disrupt entrenched norms. The Reserved Seats for Women Bill is a reflection of this shared resolve and the 10th Assembly is proud to be the legislative catalyst advancing it,” he said.

Calling for collaboration, Mr. Kalu appealed to civil society groups, political parties, development partners, and the media to join efforts toward ensuring the bill’s passage.

“To our partners in civil society, the international community, and the development sector: your role is indispensable. Join us in equipping, mentoring, and amplifying the voices of the women this bill seeks to empower. Your expertise, advocacy, and collaboration remain vital.

To political parties: reform must begin within. Open your ranks. Prioritise women not merely as supporters, but as candidates and decision-makers. The strength of our democracy depends on the strength of our internal democratic institutions.

To the media: shape the national conversation. Tell this story not as tokenism, but as transformation. This bill is not a favour, it is a framework for equity. A nation cannot fly with one wing.

And to the Nigerian people, men and women, young and old, this is your bill. Support it. Speak for it. Stand behind it. Because when women rise, nations do not merely progress, they prosper. When women lead, societies heal,” he explained.

The Deputy Speaker also reiterated that his office remains open to all stakeholders for collaboration, technical assistance, and strategic advocacy efforts.

“The Office of the Deputy Speaker stands as a convening platform for all committed to gender-responsive governance. We invite collaboration across sectors to co-design advocacy, mobilise communities, and build consensus. We welcome development partners to offer technical insight, policy guidance, and leadership training. We urge political institutions to work with us to institutionalise inclusion,” he added.

The National Assembly is currently on annual recess and is expected to resume plenary in September 2025.

Borders: NOA DG Applauds Security Synergy, Seeks Civic Support

0

The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, has commended the achievements of Nigeria’s security agencies in transforming the country’s borders from crime corridors into fortified barriers against human trafficking and related transnational crimes.

Speaking in Abuja at the maiden National Joint Security Press Briefing, themed “Disrupting Criminal Networks and Securing Communities,” Mr. Issa-Onilu praised the enhanced synergy among agencies, which he said has led to remarkable successes in crime fighting across the country.

“The Federal Government has escalated security operations nationwide, merging tactical enforcement with intelligence-led interventions. Banditry, insurgency, trafficking, and other crimes are being tackled through seamless inter-agency cooperation, resulting in major arrests, rescues, and asset seizures. From the North-East to the Niger Delta, our security forces are reclaiming peace—one operation at a time. Nigeria is fighting back decisively and collaboratively,” he said.

Highlighting recent security data, he disclosed that the Nigeria Police Force conducted 326 operations, resulting in 2,109 arrests and the rescue of 175 kidnap victims. He added that the military neutralised 78 terrorists and dismantled six arms trafficking rings, while the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) carried out 1,572 raids, seizing nearly 2.9 million kilogrammes of narcotics, including cannabis, tramadol, and methamphetamine.

He further revealed that 82 victims of human trafficking were rescued and 495 irregular migrants repatriated through a renewed border control approach supported by international partners.

“Through international partnerships and domestic vigilance, Nigeria is reforming its border and migration systems to block irregular migration and human trafficking. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is also driving identity governance with support from the UN and ECOWAS. Our borders are no longer gateways to crime—they are now barriers to exploitation and trafficking,” he said.

The NOA boss also highlighted additional efforts, including the issuance of 3,786 e-visas, the return of 214 Nigerians from Niger Republic, and the deportation of 110 from Saudi Arabia. Arms recovered include 12 AK-47 rifles, two General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), and over 2,200 rounds of ammunition.

On pharmaceutical crime, he noted that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) intercepted 10 containers of tramadol and five containers of expired tomato paste.

“Drugs and illegal arms are the oxygen of criminality. Federal enforcement agencies are systematically disabling these supply chains—on highways, at borders, and in markets—while investing in public education and rehabilitation,” he noted.

Speaking on infrastructure and natural resource protection, Issa-Onilu revealed that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) dismantled 12 illegal refineries, three illegal mining gangs, and impounded seven trucks used for oil theft. The Nigerian Navy also seized ₦752.2 million worth of stolen petroleum products.

“Every illegal refinery and tampered railway track is an attack on our economy. Protecting oil pipelines, roads, power lines, and mines is not just security—it’s economic survival,” he stressed.

On humanitarian and civic engagement, he said the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) supported flood victims and rehabilitated Boko Haram escapees in over 15 states, while the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) hosted 352 anti-corruption events, reaching over 200,000 citizens. NOA itself led 80 nationwide campaigns against misinformation.

“Security is not only boots on the ground—it’s also food on tables, public trust, and youth empowerment. From flood alerts to deradicalization, the government is responding to citizens’ needs with urgency and compassion,” he said.

Issa-Onilu also commended efforts toward strengthening accountability and improving Nigeria’s global standing, noting that the ICPC recovered ₦21 billion and $1 million in looted funds, while the Nigeria Correctional Service reported the rehabilitation of 15,000 inmates—800 of whom are currently enrolled in university programmes.

On financial crimes, he noted that the country is on track to exit the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list following recent anti-money laundering reforms.

“Security does not begin on the battlefield. It begins in our homes, our values, our truthfulness, and our resolve. Let us protect what is ours and unite for a peaceful, progressive Nigeria,” he urged.

He concluded by calling on Nigerians to take ownership of the fight for peace, not just through vigilance, but by upholding national values and promoting unity.

Stakeholders Explore Bamboo Value Chain Opportunities in Anambra

0

The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Anambra Office, in collaboration with the Sahelian Institute for Bamboo Research and Entrepreneurship Development (SIBRED), on Monday organised an Investors’ Forum on Bamboo Value Chain Development in Awka, Anambra State, Southeast Nigeria.

The forum, with the theme “Strengthening Investment Opportunities in Bamboo Value Chain for Sustainable Industrial Growth and Economic Development in Anambra State,” drew stakeholders and experts who called attention to the untapped and underutilised potential of bamboo in Anambra and across Nigeria.

Some experts at the event expressed concern that the country is yet to fully harness the economic and environmental opportunities of bamboo.

Prof. Muyisa Kazimoto, Vice-Chancellor of the Open Learning University, Democratic Republic of Congo, described bamboo as a transformative green resource for Africa’s sustainability agenda.

Kazimoto identified weak policy coordination, lack of processing units, limited innovation, and restricted access to finance as key challenges in harnessing the benefits of bamboo resources.

“Africa faces environmental degradation, and youth unemployment. The green economy model emphasises equity, resource efficiency, and resilience.

“Green economy also improves human welfare and reduces ecological risks.

“Bamboo emerges as a renewable, fast-growing resource and an investment opportunity as it grows rapidly and regenerates without replanting.

“I recommend the institutionalisation of bamboo in the national development framework, the establishment of bamboo clusters and innovation zones.

“We need to mobilise public-private partnerships, integrate bamboo in climate finance systems, and support community-driven, inclusive bamboo enterprises,” Kazimoto said.

In his address, Prof. Nnayelugo Ike-Muonso, Director-General of RMRDC, said that the bamboo value chain holds significant potential for economic growth, job creation, and environmental sustainability.

“Bamboo, a valuable resource, is highly underutilised in Nigeria.

“Developing the bamboo value chain can contribute to Nigeria’s green economy, reduce deforestation, and provide raw materials for various industries.

“We must explore new investment models, modern processing technologies, and value addition opportunities,” he said.

Mrs. Diana Doheny, Co-founder of Afroforestry Impact and Regeneration, USA, said that the global market for bamboo was estimated at 67.13 billion dollars in 2024 and is projected to reach 90 billion dollars by 2030.

Doheny stated that China produces more than 60 per cent of the world’s bamboo and exports bamboo and bamboo-based products to more than 100 countries.

According to her, the 2024 global market estimate for bamboo is 67.13 billion dollars, projected to hit 90 billion dollars by 2030.

“Global market for bamboo furniture is projected to exceed 10 billion dollars by 2026.

“China remains the largest producer and exporter. Already, we see bamboo being used in structural timbers for commercial and residential construction.

“Bamboo can also potentially be used as a structural additive to cement,” she said.

In his remarks, Dr. John Ogbodo, Director of SIBRED, emphasised the need to pay close attention to the benefits of bamboo resources.

Ogbodo said that Nigeria, the second-largest bamboo-producing country in West Africa, lacks an operational national bamboo policy, as well as regulations and standards for establishing plantations.

“There is no single state in Nigeria that currently has even one hectare of planted bamboo forest.

“No known government-owned bamboo forest nursery with at least 1,000 bamboo seedlings exists anywhere in Nigeria.

“I hope that this forum will motivate investment in bamboo value chain development in Anambra and Nigeria at large,” he said.

Kano State: Governor Yusuf Employs 1,038 Youths

0

The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has distributed employment letters to 1,038 newly recruited agricultural extension workers, warning them against corrupt practices and urging them to serve the state with diligence and honesty.

The Governor who disclosed this at the ceremony in Kano, described the recruitment as a fulfilment of his campaign promises and a strategic step toward enhancing food security and boosting family incomes across the state.

“Today is a day of renewed opportunity and fulfilment of our campaign promise. These jobs will not only support food security but also provide income for thousands of Kano families,” he said.

The Governor explained that although Kano already leads the country in the number of extension agents, the state still requires more to meet the rising demands of modern agriculture.

“We need more trained extension workers who will serve their communities, support our farmers, and help transform our agricultural sector,” he added.

Governor Yusuf warned the new employees to avoid corruption, absenteeism, and indolence, stressing that the recruitment was not an avenue for looting public funds.

“This appointment is not merely a job, but a call to service. You must stand out by rejecting temptation and social vices. The employment is meant to serve, not to siphon the little treasury of the state,” he cautioned.

He acknowledged that insecurity has hindered agricultural activity in many parts of the country, but noted that farmers in Kano are still active, thanks to ongoing government support.

“While insecurity has disrupted farming in many states, Kano remains stable. Our farmers are doing their best, and we are giving them all the necessary support,” he said.

Governor Yusuf also highlighted major agricultural investments, including the construction of a two-kilometre earth dam aimed at cultivating three million hectares of farmland, with 500,000 hectares earmarked for irrigation.

“The new dam project will support 2,800 additional hectares of irrigation land. This is part of our effort to double existing farmland and empower a new generation of agricultural field workers,” he explained.

He reminded the recruits that many senior officials in the state civil service today began as beneficiaries of similar initiatives under the Kwankwaso administration in 2001.

“Many permanent secretaries today are products of such initiatives. In 15 years, you too can rise to those positions if you remain committed and disciplined,” he said.

Governor Yusuf further disclosed that in the coming months, his administration plans to employ 5,000 youths and 3,900 teachers, while 1,500 lecturers will be recruited into tertiary institutions.

“A few months ago, we awarded 600 foreign scholarships to Kano indigenes. We are taking care of them, and we will continue to invest in human capital development,” he said.

VON DG reaffirms commitment to reforms, global excellence

0

The Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Jibrin Baba Ndace, MNIPR, has reaffirmed his commitment to institutional reforms, staff development and national service, stating that his goal is to reposition VON as a true instrument of national power.

He made this known during a courtesy visit by the newly elected leadership of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers’ Union (RATTAWU), led by National President, Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu, popularly known as Magic Fingers, at the VON headquarters in Abuja.

Ndace congratulated the RATTAWU leadership on their emergence through a 20-hour democratic process at the Seventh Quadrennial National Delegates Conference in Gombe, describing it as a clear affirmation of organised labour’s role in strengthening public institutions.

He highlighted key milestones under his leadership, noting that VON is undergoing an institutional renewal process aimed at restoring its relevance both continentally and globally. The organisation, he said, is committed to operational excellence, digital transformation, and international expansion.

One of the flagship projects, according to the DG, is the revival of the 250KW Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) transmitter. With support from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, FNIPR, the transmitter—dormant for over a decade—is being restored to resume shortwave broadcasting across Africa and beyond.

Also recalled was the first staff retreat in over ten years, which he described as a moment of strategic reflection. The retreat resulted in the signing of performance bonds with directors and included staff training in artificial intelligence, corporate risk management, and content innovation.

Ndace noted that the organisation has also strengthened international partnerships with broadcasters in China, Tanzania, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Côte d’Ivoire, while discussions are ongoing with the Chinese Embassy to support Mandarin-language broadcasts.

Domestically, VON has formed institutional partnerships with ASCON, NCC, NITDA, NIGCOMSAT, Galaxy Backbone, and Globacom, aimed at boosting digital capabilities and enhancing staff performance.

“Staff are VON’s greatest asset, and all our reforms are anchored on civil service rules and targeted at measurable results,” Ndace emphasised, assuring the union leaders that staff welfare remains a top priority under his leadership.

On staff redeployments, he clarified that the exercise followed the 2024 Management Retreat and was necessary to reposition the service for improved efficiency. “Many staff have welcomed the redeployments with renewed commitment. While reform may be uncomfortable, it is necessary for lasting change,” he explained.

Ndace called for collaborative and forward-looking unionism, urging RATTAWU to engage constructively with management. “Let’s promote responsible unionism—one that protects workers’ rights while supporting innovation and performance,” he said.

He commended Comrade Kalu’s service to the broadcast industry, especially at Anambra Broadcasting Service, expressing confidence that RATTAWU would be a dependable partner in the ongoing transformation of VON.

In his response, Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu applauded the DG’s efforts, describing his leadership as visionary and impactful. “We appreciate your vision and fully support VON’s transformation agenda,” he stated, pledging the union’s cooperation in promoting staff welfare and national development.
