The Governor of Niger State, North Central Nigeria, Mohammed Umaru Bago, says air transport operations will commence at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, by April this year.
Bago made this disclosure while hosting Seyi Tinubu, son of the President; Ayodele Olawande, Minister of Youth Development; and Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo, CEO of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority, during a courtesy visit to the Government House in Minna.
He explained that commercial air transport operations will initially run daily between Lagos and Minna, with plans to extend the service to Kano by June. The governor further stated that ten aircraft will operate at the airport, including two cargo planes designated for shipping goods to Brazil and Saudi Arabia.
Governor Bago described the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, as a “first-of-its-kind” project in Nigeria, emphasizing that its Cargo and Hajj terminal are landmark initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of citizens.
