Boomplay remains committed to enhancing user experience by focusing on innovative features and providing relevant content tailored to its users’ needs. The addition of local languages on the platform aims to serve the growing number of regional users.

With the introduction of Hausa, Boomplay is strategically targeting over 80 million Hausa speakers in West Africa, with northern Nigeria accounting for 50 million of them.

Commenting on the launch of the Hausa platform, Ibrahim O. Kadiri, General Manager of Boomplay Nigeria, stated, “Adding local languages, particularly Hausa, aligns with our goal to expand to a broader demographic and connect more music lovers to the content they enjoy.”

“Language carries deep sentimental and cultural significance, and by making our platform available in Hausa, we are not only recognizing the linguistic diversity of our audience but also ensuring our service remains relevant and accessible to all. This initiative underscores our commitment to delivering an enriched music streaming experience and content to every part of the African music community.”

This expansion is a key part of Boomplay’s strategy to provide inclusive and accessible music experiences for a wide range of music lovers, while also promoting hyperlocal content. Users can activate the Hausa language option in their profile settings by selecting it from the language menu.

Once activated, users will enjoy a seamless, culturally relevant experience with Hausa-language content, curated playlists, podcasts, and easy-to-navigate features.
