Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has inaugurated a housing estate for teachers in Buratai town, and a new secondary school in Tum village, known as Tum Day Secondary all located in Biu Local Government Area of the state.

These projects aim to improve education and living standards in the region.

The estate which consists of 10 units of two-bedroom semi-detached bungalows is part of Governor Zulum’s efforts to address the housing deficit, particularly for teachers who play a vital role in the development of education in Borno State.

The secondary school is one of the 102 educational institutions constructed by the Zulum administration across the state. It is a co-educational senior secondary school, which also includes a junior secondary and primary school. This project reflects the government’s commitment to expanding access to education for communities in the state.

During the brief opening ceremony, Governor Zulum reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to enhancing both the healthcare and education sectors in Borno State.

He emphasized the crucial role education plays in the state’s long-term development.

“I want to assure you that this administration is committed to providing affordable quality healthcare systems and, most importantly, education, which is the bedrock for any meaningful development. Without education, there will be no meaningful development,” Zulum stated.

In recognition of his contributions, the Buratai community presented a plaque to Governor Zulum, commending his integrity and efforts in governance, particularly in improving education and infrastructure in Borno State.

The plaque symbolizes the community’s gratitude for the governor’s numerous projects that continue to transform the region.
