Borno State Governor Bans Metal Scavenging Till Further Investigation

Governor Zulum has banned metal Scavenging in Borno State, after an inspection tour within the metropolis and discovered a large number of metal scarp that belongs to the state.
In an interview granted by the governor , he said ‘‘in the last few years, about 1000 people were killed in the state as a result of metal scavenging, people go to extreme in this business even stealing public goods, you can see for yourself some of those metal are street lights pole, some are tanks belonging to telecommunications companies and many others”.
“We have 27 local Government in the state, and some vehicles in the local government are allegedly destroyed by those interested in personal gains through the Scavenging, we can’t allow such to continue.
“We most have a certain level of decency in our daily businesses therefore I have from today banned metal scavenging in the state till further investigation is made”.
