Borno State Governor Swears In Advisers And Permanent Secretaries

The governor of Borno State Prof. Babagana Zulum swears in new special advisers and permanent secretaries in the State.
The governor said the appointments were borne out of the State’s desire to promote professionalism in public service in the State. “The appointees went through rigorous processes before getting selected”. He said,
“The appointment of permanent secretaries and Special advisers were the outcome of the rigorous selection process which meticulously assess competence, experience, personal integrity and professional conducts among others”.
The governor while congratulating the appointees, assured them of regular training and retraining within and outside the States.
The State will send civil servants to national institute for policy and strategic studies, NIPS in Kuru, Plateau State.
Governor Zulum said, “the ability of the Borno State public service to successfully implement the policies of the government depends largely on the institutional capacity of the service and professional competence of its workforce… Regular training and retraining of staff which is the key component of professional labour of service already resuscitated”.
The governor further lifted the ban on promotion in the Borno State public service to motivate the civil servants.
“The ban on promotion is hereby lifted. The civil service commission and Head of service should go and start putting in motion the necessary process of conducting promotion exams for all categories of civil service in the State. The examination shall be conducted later January in 2023”.
Dignitaries at the event are the speaker Borno State House of assembly ably represented by his deputy, the majority leader of the state House of assembly, the secretary to the State government,acting Head of service among others.
