The Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, in company of senator Ali Ndume senator representing southern Borno were in Gwoza local government of the State to supervise the distribution of cash, food items and cloths to more than 20,000 people in the communities, among them were some IDP returnees.
The governor urged them to utilised this reason of the holy month of Ramadan to pray for a lasting peace in the state and the country.
Zulum commissioned a maternity clinic donated by Ahmed Jaha Babayo member house of representatives representing Damboa, Gwoza and Chibok at the Federal constituency.
The maternity clinic comprises of a General ward, pharmaceutical section and a surgical ward with a brand new ambulance.
Governor Zulum also commissioned a 340 housing unit at Warabe community, a small settlement few kilometre away from the main town of Gwoza, the project was constructed by the ministry of reconstruction rehabilitation and resettlement in order to settle the people of warabe community that were affected by the insurgency.
The governor said: “The Resettlement of IDPs is to allow them to build resilience for self-reliance.“
A Government Day Secondary School was commissioned alongside others at Pulka town, with over 500 students enrolled already.
