The Electoral committee of the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria, BON has declared John Ugbe of Multichoice as the winner of the Chairmanship position of the organisation in a keenly contested election.
The chairman of the committee, Shola Omole while declaring the results said Mr. John Ugbe pulled a total of 63 votes to win the election.
He said the second contestant, Mr Godfery Ohabonwa of Multimesh group scored a total of 35 votes.
The total vote cast by the delegates from across the country were 98.
“With these figures, Multichoice has been duely elected as the next Chairman of BON,” Mr. Omole said.
In his acceptance speech, the new chairman of BON, Mr. John Ugbe of Multichoice said he would reach out to every member of the organisation and bring them together to move the organisation to a greater height.
“I thank everyone for voting me and I will do everything to make the organization a strong one for the benefit of all.
“As I said during the manifestoe, I will vigouriously pursue the issue of capacity building for all members for them to be well trained and equiped for emerging issues in the broadcast industry,” he added.
The election was held at the Coronation Hall, government house Kano, the venue for the 75th Assembly of the organisation.
