Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria unveils 2022 broadcasting awards logo

The Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON), has unveiled the logo of the 2022 maiden edition of the ‘Nigerian Broadcasting Awards’ scheduled to hold in October.
The Nigerian Broadcasting Awards is aimed at recognising and rewarding excellence in the broadcasting industry.
At the official unveiling of the BON award logo, the organizers explained that the statuette, shaped like a woman on the logo, symbolises the fertility of ideas in the broadcasting profession and being implemented by fertile minds.
“The raised hands clutching a star represented triumph borne of the excellence which the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards sought to recognize, celebrate and reward”.
Addressing journalists at the unveiling, the Chairman of the Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria, Mr John Ugbe said the award is aimed at embodying international awards for outstanding achievement in television and radio as well as distinguished achievement and meritorious service in Broadcasting among others.
Mr Ugbe noted that the award is not limited to members of BON alone but to all broadcasters.
“There are quite a few other categories for which awards would be given across radio and television. In order to achieve a successful award, BON at its 76th general assembly approved the composition of the awards steering committee drawn from public and private broadcast media houses” he said.
Celebrating broadcasters
Similarly, a Director at DAAR Communications Plc, Dupe Oladeinde, who applauded the Broadcasting Organisation for organising the broadcast awards, said it is important to celebrate those who have added value to the general populace and to the development of the country through their work as broadcasters.
“These are the reasons why it is good to actually celebrate them, especially those who are still living. So it is good to celebrate the outstanding broadcasters now in order to motivate them to do more”.
Oladeinde commended the award from the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria as something of great value.
The categories of awards for this year include Best Radio Station/ Television Station of the Year, Best Radio/Best Television- News in English, Best Radio station/ Best Television-“Indigenous language”, Best Radio/ Best Television station-original production “English”, Best Radio/ Best Television station-original production “Indigenous language”, Best Radio/ Best Television Show-English, Best Radio/ Best Television Show- Indigenous language, Newscaster of the Year- Radio/Television, Reporter of the Year -Radio/Television, (12) Presenter of the Year – Radio/Television amongst others.
BON is an umbrella body for private and public broadcasters in Nigeria. It is an independent, non-governmental association of all private, public, commercial and community electronic media organisations with more than 300 media houses in Nigeria as members.
