BUA Distributes N35m drugs To Clinics in Sokoto

BUA cement has distributed drugs worth N35 million to sixteen clinics across various communities in Wamakko local government area of Sokoto State.

The BUA Managing Director (MD), Engnr. Yusuf Haliru Binji, made the drugs distribution to different heads of the clinics in Sokoto State.

He said the company always give utmost priority and dictate itself to offering free drugs and other interventions to its communities every year to provide easy access to pharmaceuticals in their clinics at no cost.

“At Bua cement, giving back to our communities is of paramount importance to us. We are dedicated and committed to giving back to our host communities to add value to our common relationship, which is mutual and beneficial.

“We no doubt, sincerely appreciate the enormous and genuine support and cooperation of our host communities as well as the state over the years.

“The success story of the company will have been possible without the sincere support from them and the state,” he said.

The MD represented by Director Administration and Corporate Services of the company, Mr Sada Suleiman, said the sixteen clinics includes; Arkilla Federal Low-cost clinic, Kalambaina clinic, Wamakko dispensary, Farfaru clinic, Asare clinic, Wajeke clinic, Gumbi clinic, Mobile Police Barracks clinic, Gwuiwa clinic, Gidan Boka, Sabon Garin Alu clinic, Arkilla clinic, Gidan Bailu/Gidan Gamba clinic, Beni clinic, Bakin Kusu clinic and  Kaurar kimba clinic.

He noted that the drugs are free and not to be sold as the company in collaboration with the local government would put a monitoring mechanism to ensure the drugs are well utilise for the overall health benefits of the host communities.

He added that, “The company will soon commission seven solar powered boreholes that are completed across the state.”

The MD appreciated Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, for his support and advice to Bua cement towards improving lives of people in the state.

In his remarks, the Chairman Wamakko local government, Umar Ahmad Dundaye, thanked the company for extending the drugs gesture from eight to sixteen clinics.

He assured the company that the host communities would continue to provide necessary support for the smooth operations of the activities in the company.

The Chairman represented by the Director Health of the local government, Umar Sani Tureta, further assured judicious use of the drugs for the overall health benefits of people in the area.

Also speaking, the Village Head of Wajake, Alhaji Muhammad Mailato Gumbi, appreciated the company on behalf of the host communities and assured judicious use and monitoring of the drugs at various clinics in the local government.
