Investors’ interest in DANGOTE CEMENT PLC (+0.59%) as well as ZENITH BANK PLC (+0.25%), GUARANTY TRUST HOLDING COMPANY PLC (+0.29%) and UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA PLC (+1.43%) were the main drivers of the market’s overall performance.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed that a total of 133.41m shares valued at ₦1.81bn were exchanged in 3,078 deals with FBN HOLDINGS PLC(+0.00%) leading the volume chart with 30.38m units traded while DANGOTE CEMENT PLC (+0.59%) led the value chart in deals worth ₦318.11m.
As measured by market breadth, market sentiment was positive as 12 stocks gained relative to 11 losers.
UNITY BANK PLC (+9.09%) and LINKAGE ASSURANCE PLC (+7.69%) topped the gainers’ list, while HONEYWELL FLOUR MILL PLC (-9.09%) and PRESTIGE ASSURANCE PLC (-8.70%) recorded the most significant losses of the day.
Sectoral performance was mixed as the Oil & Gas (-0.7%), Insurance (-0.4%), and Consumer Goods (-0.2%) indices declined, while the Industrial Goods (+0.3%) index advanced. The Banking index closed flat.
