Burna Boy receives a new RIAA certification in the United States
Grammy-winning superstar has earned another RIAA certification. According to Chart Data, the single ‘Alone’—featured on the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ soundtrack—has surpassed 500,000 units sold in the United States.

The song is a standout track on the compilation album, which also features guest appearances from Nigerian stars Rema and Fireboy.
‘Alone’ was nominated for Best Global Song Performance at the 2023 Grammys and has amassed 164 million streams on Spotify, making it the second most-streamed song on the album, trailing only Rihanna’s ‘Lift Me Up.’
The song marks Burna Boy’s sixth RIAA certification and fourth solo plaque, further cementing his status as one of Africa’s top global stars.
The 10-time Grammy nominee is set for a busy 2025, with the anticipated release of his eighth album, No Sign of Weakness. The album follows the singles ‘Higher’, which earned a nomination for Best African Song Performance at the 67th Grammys, and ‘Bundle By Bundle’, released in December 2024.
The hitmaker recently made history as the first artist to grace the cover of Billboard France Magazine.
In the interview, the multi-award-winning star discussed the global rise of Nigerian music and his influential role in the movement. With his upcoming album, Burna Boy aims to extend his impressive commercial streak, which has seen his last four albums earn Grammy nominations.
He also holds the distinction of being the first Nigerian artist with three albums surpassing 500 million streams on Spotify.
