The President of the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF), Dr Patrice Motsepe, is deeply saddened by the passing of the former Nigerian Head of State, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari and sent his condolences and the condolences of CAF.
The former Nigerian President Buhari died on Sunday in a hospital in London, United Kingdom (UK).
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of the former President of Nigeria, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari,” CAF President, Dr Motsepe said.

“On behalf of CAF and its Member Associations representing 54 African countries, I extend our deep condolences to his family, the Government of Nigeria and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and its President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, and the People of Nigeria.”
“I had the honour of meeting President Muhammadu Buhari and was impressed by his commitment and passion for Nigerian Football. President Buhari will forever live in our hearts and minds. May his Soul Rest In Peace,” he added.
The statement from CAF highlighted the respect held for the former leader and offered prayers for strength and comfort to his family and the entire nation during this period of mourning.
The African football body joins countless others in remembering the life and contributions of H.E. Muhammadu Buhari.
