CAF U-17 AFCON 2025: Fixtures, Venues, and Key Matchups

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the full schedule, kick-off times, and venues for the TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025. The tournament, now in its 15th edition, will take place from March 30 to April 19, 2025, featuring 16 nations competing for continental glory and a place in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Host Venues

Four stadiums across Morocco will host the tournament:

  • El Bachir Stadium (Mohammedia)
  • Larbi Zaouli Stadium (Casablanca)
  • Berrechid Stadium (Casablanca)
  • El Abdi Stadium (El Jadida)

Opening Matches – March 30 & 31

The tournament kicks off at El Bachir Stadium on March 30, with hosts Morocco facing East African champions Uganda.

The following day, Group A action continues:

  • Tanzania vs. Zambia (Southern African champions)
  • Burkina Faso vs. Cameroon (Two-time champions & 2023 bronze medallists)
  • South Africa vs. Egypt (North vs. South rivalry, former runners-up in 2015 and 1997 champions)

Group C & D Fixtures – April 1

  • Senegal vs. The Gambia (Reigning champions in action at El Abdi Stadium)
  • Somalia vs. Tunisia (Somalia’s second AFCON U-17 appearance)
  • Mali vs. Angola (Mali finished fourth in 2023; Angola makes tournament debut)
  • Côte d’Ivoire vs. Central African Republic (Former champions start their campaign)

A Gateway to the FIFA U-17 World Cup

The TotalEnergies CAF U-17 AFCON 2025 also serves as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, set to be hosted in Qatar later this year, with 10 African teams earning a spot in the expanded global tournament.
