Morocco’s ASFAR came third in the maiden edition of TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League after beating Equatorial Guinea’s Malabo Kings 3-1 at 30 June Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.

Fatima Tagnaout scored in the 10th minute to give ASFAR the lead. After the break, Malabo Kings equalised through Carolina Martins Pereira in the 50th minute.

In the 60th minute, Malabo’s goalkeeper made a mistake that Ghizlane Chebbak took advantage of, scoring the second goal for ASFAR. Chebbak then scored the third goal for her team to secure the victory. Chebbak won the Woman of The Match award as the match ended 3-1 to ASFAR.

“It was a good match. We talked with the players and agreed that now we have to at least get a medal to Morocco after we lost the chance for both gold and silver medals,” ASFAR coach, Abdallah Haidamou, said.

“We hope the club’s chief gives the girls the financial prizes they deserve. Ghizlane Chebbak is great in and outside of the field. She’s the beating heart of the team, and today she got what she deserved.”

Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns lock horns in final match of the CAF Women’s Champions League, as the top prize for African Women Club Football will be at stake.

The match will take place in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Friday 19th November 2021 at the 30 June Stadium, where the first ever African women club champions will be crowned.
