CAFCC: Rivers United secures away win

After securing a mouth watering results in the first leg, first round of the CAF COnfederation cup in far away South Africa against Bloemfontein Celtics, Rivers United has returned to the country.

The Pride of Rivers recorded a surprise 0-2 away win over host Celtic on Wednesday courtesy goals from Fortune Omoniwari and Godwin Aguda.

The 38 man delegation led by commissioner for sports in the state Boma Iyaye arrived the country on Thursday evening from South Africa.

Favourable results in the second leg will see Rivers United progressing to the group stage of the competition.

The reverse fixture is scheduled for Adoke Amaisimaka stadium in Port-Harcourt in January 2021
