Cameroon, African Development Bank to Sign Transport Sector Financing Agreement
The African Development Bank Group’s Regional Office for Central Africa and Cameroon’s Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT) will sign a financing agreement on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM (GMT+1) in Yaoundé.
The agreement marks the launch of Phase 4 of the Transport Sector Support Programme (PAST 4), a strategic initiative aimed at transforming Cameroon’s transport sector. Backed by the African Development Bank, the program seeks to boost the sector’s contribution to the national economy through deregulation and enhanced competitiveness.
This signing represents a significant milestone in modernizing Cameroon’s transport infrastructure and advancing its sustainable economic development objectives. The African Development Bank Group, a key development partner in Central Africa, plays a leading role in funding major infrastructure projects in Cameroon. Currently, 63% of the Bank’s portfolio in the country is dedicated to transport infrastructure development.
The event will take place at the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development in Yaoundé.
